Designer Spotlight: FRAMA
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Frama to the Marz Designs store. Hailing from Denmark, Frama is a multi-disciplinary design brand that creates lifestyle objects to stimulate the senses and promote conscious living.
FRAMA's furniture and other collections showcase a unique blend of natural materials, simple geometries, and exceptional craftsmanship. Each piece is carefully designed to seamlessly blend the imaginative with the practical, resulting in FRAMA’s patented aesthetic of warmth, honesty and true authenticity. The Copenhagen-based brand is directly influenced by the convergence of four experiential elements - travel, nature, spaces, and stories. All of these elements come together to create beautiful and functional seating, storage, shelving and tables, that add character and comfort to any space.
In this designer spotlight, let’s take a closer look at some of our in-stock FRAMA items, including a range of elegant glassware and furniture, and the concepts behind their creation.

The FRAMA Furniture Collection epitomises the perfect balance between sleek architectural designs and enduring natural materials. With an aim to craft practical objects that possess a genuine sense of purpose and longevity, each piece in the collection is crafted for daily use and built to endure for many years, acquiring a natural patina as time goes by.

“It's FRAMA’s philosophy that juxtapositions create balance and with our two directions, we navigate through the universe of simplicity.” — FRAMA

Chair 01, Stool 01 + Bar Chair 01

The Chair 01, Stool 01 and Bar Chair 01 are an ode to the round-nosed wooden stacking chairs that were popular in Nordic churches in the early 20th century. With roots in the UK and later imported to Scandinavia, these chairs represented the democratic principles that underlined modern design.

Made from premium grade, locally sourced Baltic Birch and intentionally left with exposed joints as a tribute to the traditional method of production, these chairs are finished with custom-coloured, organic hard wax and oils, to develop a unique wood patina as it ages.

These seats complement any residential or commercial context.

Triangolo Chair

FRAMA’s Triangolo Chair, designed by Per Holland Bastrup in 1989, is a masterpiece of progressive, sculptural design. Characterised by clean lines and basic geometric shapes, the chair offers a one-of-a-kind seating experience, whether as a desk chair or a distinctive decorative piece. Constructed from solid steel, the chair boasts a minimalist, industrial aesthetic that is both sturdy and practical while remaining light in appearance and composition.

The Triangolo Chair is a true statement piece that instantly grabs attention.

The F-Cabinet is the result of a creative partnership between Morten Emil Engel and Frama, stemming from a shared interest in industrial production, welding techniques, and the use of raw materials. Made from solid aluminium, this versatile and durable piece can be used in a variety of settings, including domestic, office, and outdoor spaces. Its longevity is further enhanced by the orbital sanding process, which creates a smooth surface with minimal visible scratches, protecting against corrosion and providing a maintenance-free finish.

The cabinet's modular design allows for a free-standing unit that showcases its monolithic appearance, while also being able to be stacked on the floor, mounted on the wall, or placed next to or above each other.

“Featuring designs from a variety of artists, makers, and architects, all of our home goods emphasise the importance of quality craftsmanship and the beauty of natural materials and simple geometries.” — FRAMA

The FRAMA 0405 Glassware Collection draws inspiration from traditional glassware while incorporating an organic touch. Taking cues from Giorgio Morandi's still-life representations, the collection boasts a weighty, solid, and sturdy appearance with almost architectural forms. Rather than being meant to be admired, these items are designed to be used, resulting in a thoughtfully crafted collection where the materials used have an ageless quality that transcends time and place. Each piece in the 0405 is individually crafted by hand using durable, hand-blown glass, resulting in a pure and seamless work of art.
